Yard Waste
YARD WASTE HOURS Every Wednesday and Sunday
April 14 - Novermber 28, 2010
10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
Dedicated volunteers make Canadian Lakes run well in so many different ways. Yard Waste Site volunteers offer two hours, once a month, either as a regular or as a substitute. Working together, we keep an important CL amenity open.
The site is located off Pierce Rd. between the campground road and the Tullymore entrance. The CL Yard Waste Site volunteers see that the users are CL property owners, and that the rules for dumping yard waste are as follows:
YARD WASTE RULES AND PROCEDURES 2010 Waste Site is for CL property owners ONLY. (Car stickers or CL ID required.) Property owners are asked to accompany any hired help, or lend them their ID. DO NOT DUMP in the turn-around area. Deposit yard waste as far down the road as possible. Deposit leaves and grass on the RIGHT side of the road. Deposit branches and brush on the LEFT side of the road. Place the stump-end of branches facing edge of the road.
ITEMS ACCEPTED: Leaves, grass, branches and brush ONLY.
ITEMS NOT ACCEPTED:
o Branches over 5 inches in diameter. o Root Balls (defined as roots of a plant mixed with dirt, gravel, etc.)
o The property owner is asked to clean out the root as follows: the root, or cut it off so the material will go through the chipper without damaging the chipper. o Foreign Materials (defined as bags, boxes or containers of any kind, or bundles tied with wire, twine, tape or any other substance). o Bottles, cans, metal, construction materials or anything with nails, staples, etc. that could damage the chipper.
